Dr. Merchant says that she chose to specialize in internal medicine because “I like variety and want to treat all major body systems, but most importantly, I LOVE my patients and building long term relationships. My relationship with them and knowing who they are, what they like, and their lifestyle gives me invaluable insight into what could potentially be ailing them and allows me to make the best diagnosis.
