Derek Rains, MD

Dr. Derek Rains is a highly skilled orthopedic surgeon at Willamette Valley Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Rains is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and was fellowship trained in sports medicine. His practice focuses on arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder. Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Rains is a committed community volunteer serving as the head team physician for Linfield University and has held this role for over a decade, has provided medical support for local high school sports teams, and dedicated 10 years to the Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation as a board member.
